That’s exactly why this conversation matters.
You may have filed a Office for Civil Rights (OCR) complaint. You waited. And waited.
Nothing changed.
So yeah, many parents have given up on the Office for Civil Rights.
But now? That system, as understaffed as it was, has been stripped down even more:
🔷 7 of 12 regional offices closed
🔷 Over 240 staff laid
off
🔷 6,800+ active complaints dropped, just gone
🔷 No improvements. No reform. Just… silence.
And here’s what that means:
If your school retaliates against you or your child for speaking up about unfair treatment, there may be no one left to step in and hold them accountable.
When a student is suspended unfairly, denied their IEP services, or targeted based on language or race, there may be no one left to intervene.
That’s why we’re coming together on Wed., April 9th on my Facebook page, The Art of Advocacy at
2:30 pm Mtn. Time
4:30pm ET

1:30 PT
for a powerful and lively conversation, Civil Rights Have Not Been in This Much
Peril Since The 1950s with Marcie Lipsitt, a parent advocate who knows this system inside and out.
We’re here to talk honestly about what’s already changed, and what we can still do.
We all deserve to understand what’s really happening, and how to keep fighting for our kids, together.
With you,
