So, this year’s main dish is going to be a bit of an experiment. I’ll let you know how long it takes to roast a partially frozen 19-pound turkey.
It’s all part of my theme this Thanksgiving: giving myself a little grace.
Instead of rolling out crescent rolls from scratch, my husband, Jim picked up some delicious bakery rolls. They’ll be just as good (and way less
stress!).
The cherry pie? Bought and ready to go—no mixing, rolling, or baking required.
And to make cleanup easier, I’ve gone all-in on palm leaf plates (who knew palm leaves can turn into plates) and bamboo silverware.
They are more planet-friendly so I’ll be throwing them away with less guilt.
It’s not just about simplifying the meal—it’s about finding ways to make the day more manageable so there’s more time for what truly matters.
Because at the heart of Thanksgiving,
it’s not the rolls or the pie that we’ll remember—it’s the moments shared, the laughter, and the love around the table.
This holiday, I encourage you to take a deep breath, soak in the moments of joy, and remind yourself of the impact you’re making—not just for your child but for all children.
Thank you for your persistent advocacy and for trusting me to walk alongside you in this journey.
Wishing you and your family a Thanksgiving filled
with love, gratitude, and connection,
