There are ways to have more positive IEP meetings.
Were you with us last week? I hope you didn't miss our show!
We learned some pretty fabulous ways to use what we know about neuroscience to completely change the tone and
outcomes at IEP meetings.

Our guest, Tripp Hanson, retired Broadway musical
theatre star and founder of the Mind Mastery Institute shared many valuable lessons with us. Here is one about fighting at IEP meetings.
"When we're stuck in anticipation of a fight, at our IEP meetings:
* we feel like we're not being supported;
* and that we have to go get something;
* that we have to defend our
position;
* and that you have to be wrong in order for me to be right.
When this happens we create the chemical signature in our brain that actually matches that line of negative thinking.
And when we do that, we ask them to meet
us on that playing field. We asked them to meet us in the fight. And therefore, we tend to fight." ~ Tripp Hanson
What can we do instead?
"We can focus, our intention, our energy, our attention, on what we want to see rather than what we've been seeing in the past."
~ Tripp Hanson
What can we do before we go to IEP meetings?
"Create three mini scenarios you want to see in your next IEP meeting – just seeing everybody's smiling and having a good time together and
feeling good with each other. I want you to visit that scenario and two other ones, a couple of times a day, every day for several days." ~Tripp Hanson
What can we do after IEP meetings?
