Teaching our children self-advocacy skills is one of our most important jobs. We can't do this when we are always speaking for them.
As parents we are allies for our children. We need to have their voice at the table. We need to be learning from them.
We have a perfect opportunity for you to hear the many perspectives from our guest, Ian Watlington on Thursday, June 2nd.
Ian is a disabled man and former education consultant for families managing the IEP process. He is about to complete 11 years at the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) where he works on disability rights issues at a national level.
Join him to hear stories that will make you think, maybe even laugh. He will talk about being in the system, helping navigate the system, and what his hiatus from education work has taught him.
