Yay! We love help of what to say at IEP meetings!
You've probably attended more IEP meetings than you care to remember.
As an advocate, I've attended hundreds of IEP meetings for families across the country.
What's one thing you and I can count on at an IEP meeting?
Hearing some pretty stunning statements.
One of the most stinging one was when a special education teacher told a mother and I ,
"When he can act like a first grader he can be with first graders!"
You can't unhear those words.
Here are some common statements you've probably heard:
* “We don’t need to write it in the IEP, our teachers will remember to do this.”
* “We just don’t have the funding for that service.”
* “You need to have more realistic expectations for your child.”
* “We don’t believe your child needs that at this time.”
Would you like some responses to these types of statements (and others)?
I’ve got your back!
I just finished writing an eGuide for you that is free! It gives you 25 Responses you can use at IEP meetings. Click here to get your own copy of What To Say When...
