I bet you're quickly coming up with a list of 4 letter words you may have been tempted (just once or twice) to use at IEP meetings.
The good news is, you're not alone.
I remember being at a meeting for my adult son, Dylan and was blown away at what I heard come out of a staff member's mouth.
What was my reply?
"You gotta be... (then I continued making the first sound of the word for several seconds)_______ kidding me!"
Yes, it happens to all of us. We're wanting to say what we know we can't say at a meeting. It can be sooo frustrating when we know the best word to use and we can't.
Have you ever felt that way at an IEP or ARD meeting?
Come join us on Thursday as I say (can I say them on a Facebook live?) some 4 letter words that we really don't want you saying at meetings.
I won't be like your mother and shake my finger at you or threaten to wash your mouth out with soap. What I will do is give you some advocacy advice about the 4 letter words not to use.
Can you guess what they are? Come find out!
PLUS there'll be plenty of time for conversations and you'll have time to ask any questions you have!
