Today's live show will most likely bring up some level of guilt and discomfort in each of us, and that's okay.
What beliefs, thoughts, words have we spoken that perpetuate the myth that the goal is to have our children be more "normal" so they can be accepted?
As a parent of an adult son with Down syndrome I have spent many years of his life trying to have people appreciate him, despite his disability.
I finally figured out that he needs people to accept him based on the strength of his disability and every other aspect of him.
I know I need to learn more from our first teachers, disabled individuals.
I hope you'll be with us live today because that's where the rich discussion takes place.
We're not just sharing information. You'll be learning with and from other parents. Our guests today are, Carrie Basas, Director, Governor’s Office of the Education Ombuds WA, parents and founding members of Inclusion For ALL, Marija Bogic, Taina Karru-Olsen, and Ananda
Scott!
Who else do you know that would love to be a part of this discussion?
